As Premier Asset Finance has relaunched its website, we thought it was the perfect time to catch up with Managing Director Kevin Davidson to discuss what’s to come for the company and what makes Premier Asset Finance a great business.

Back in 2008 you founded Premier Asset Finance. What inspired you to start the company?

Having worked for Bank of Scotland Asset Finance for 25 years, I just felt the time was right for me to put all my experience and skills to the test. I thought to myself I have spent the last 25 years considering risk, it was about high time to take some of my own!

Kevin, you have extensive experience in asset finance, word on the street is you’re coming close to 40 years in the sector! What’s been the highlight of your career so far?

Without doubt the creation of Premier Asset Finance. It is a very liberating and creative experience taking an embryonic idea and turning it into a successful reality. Leaving a salaried job with good benefits was a bit like being on the high wire without a safety net, but I had a fantastic team around me and I knew if we all worked hard we could make Premier a fantastic success.

With Premier Asset Finance’s relaunch of their website, what are you looking forward to most for the company in the next year?

In a word...Growth! Emerging from the pandemic seems like the right time for Premier to evolve, shift up a gear and attract new customers and new team members to sustain its future success.

You have built a really strong team within your company and strong relationships with your customers. How did you achieve this and what do you value most in creating these connections?

Premier Asset Finance has always been about looking after people and doing the right thing, be it a customer or a colleague. We are a very customer centric business which offers great service, excellent communication, choice and flexibility. We are passionate about making sure our customers are satisfied to ensure they keep coming back to us, which I’m very pleased to say they do!

When you have a spare minute to take a break from being Managing Director, what do you like to do to relax, let loose and socialise?

Apart from spending family time with my wife, two daughters and family dogs. I’m a bona fide petrol head; I adore everything to do with cars old and new much to my long-suffering wife’s despair. I also love playing golf, although it doesn’t always seem to love me as much, and l really enjoy music and travel.
